Ramay Raises Pennies for Good

By: Amanda Ashley
Updated: January 9, 2013
It looks like it will be raining pennies from Ramay fro some local charities.

The Ramay Junior High Foreign Language Club has wrapped up their annual penny drive and the money collected was no chump change.

Homeroom classes competed between Thanksgiving and the holiday break to raise the cash.

Over the last twenty-one years, the Fayetteville school says students have donated over $40,000 to charities, including the Salvation Army and the Northwest Arkansas Rape Crisis Center.

This year's donations will allow them to give $2,800 for Peace at Home Family Shelter, $500 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, and $400 for groceries and other necessities for Ramay students in need and their families.
