Decatur Woman Dies in Car Accident

A Decatur woman is dead after a single-vehicle accident in Benton County.
It happened on Highway 12 in Bentonville Thursday afternoon.
According to a State Police accident report, 76-year-old Joan Patterson was killed when she ran her 2011 Volkswagen Jetta off the left side of the road, hit a drainage ditch and rolled the vehicle twice.

Patterson was wearing a seat belt.
According to the report, the road was wet due to a light rain.
A passenger, 81-year-old James Patterson, was injured and taken to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.
