Fort Smith Fire Department Breaking Ground

By: Bobbi Smith
Updated: January 16, 2013

The Fort Smith Fire Department will break ground on the long-awaited Station #11.

The project is funded by an overwhelming adoption of a sales tax/bond proposal during a city-wide election last spring. The ceremony will take place at 8900 Massard Road, Tuesday, January 22, following the conclusion of the Fort Smith Board of Directors noon study session. The meeting should conclude by 12:30 p.m.

The new, $2.8 million facility is scheduled to be completed in late 2013 or early 2014.
