The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department announced detailed plans today for a new eastern-aligned, north- south corridor connecting Fayetteville to Rogers.
The proposal would extend Highway 265 North from Highway 264 up to New Hope Rd. in Rogers by improving existing routes and building at one new location.
Studies for the plan began back in 2009 to select the preferred alignment for the improvements.
They considered cost effectiveness and some public input in their decision.
Highway Commissioner Dick Trammel says, "The purpose of the proposed project is to improve north-south connectivity and enhance mobility for travelers in the Northwest Arkansas metro area,"
Once more survey and design work can be done, a public hearing will be held to share design details and get more input.
