The lord giveth.

And the thief taketh away.

At least that's what happened to one woman in Bentonville whose car was stolen in the middle of Sunday morning service.

"Well, I was at church at Radiant Life like I am every Sunday," says Tabitha Pearcy.

"My keys were laying on the seat a couple seats over."

Shortly thereafter -- just like that -- they were gone.

Church members recall seeing a man who rode the bus to church asking folks if they had a car.

Tabitha recalls seeing him as well.

"He left early, and I didn't know he had taken my keys," Pearcy says. "And he stole my car."

"My purse, wallet, three of my friend's wallets in there, cell phone, everything."

She remembered he actually filled out a visitor's card, leaving behind plenty of info, including his own cell phone number.

It was just a matter of time before Bentonville police tracked down the suspect: 28-year-old Joshua Tippie near the Pinnacle Hills exit in Rogers.

"Within less than 2 hours, they had found my car, everything was in there, even the cash I had in there was there," Pearcy says.

Divine intervention perhaps.

Derailing Bentonville's latest car-stealing scheme.

According to police, Tippie also punched a patrol car. He is currenty in Benton County Jail, facing charges of Theft of Property, Criminal Mischief 1st degree, Assault 3rd degree, and Refusal to Submit to Arrest.
