UA Baseball Players Arrested for Shoplifting

Colin Poche and Adam Meyer are facing charges of shoplifting related to from an afternoon report from the retail location on MLK Blvd. in Fayetteville. Police say the employee, Brandon Meredith, told them Poche, 19, put the beer in a tote bag in his cart while in the alcohol aisle. He said Poche then met up with Meyer, 19, and went to the deli, selected several items then returned to the beer section.
Meredith told officers he watched as they put two more cases in the tote bag and removed all the price tags from the deli food they had taken, them left the store.
Meredith stopped the two outside the store and recovered the stolen goods.
Meyer and Poche are both pitchers for the UA baseball team. According to Flower Mound Connection, Poche turned down an offer from the Baltimore Orioles in order to take a scholarship to play for the Razorbacks.
Poche and Meyer were taken to Washington County Jail to be booked and then released on bond.
Head Baseball Coach Dave Van Horn says he's aware of the situation and is in the process of gathering all the facts and information after which he'll make any decisions on disciplinary action.
