By: Channing Barker
Updated: January 21, 2013

At the University of Arkansas on Monday, folks with the NWA MLK Council sang the praises of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the Dream Keepers program breakfast.

The breakfast hosted speakers, teaching elementary school students about the historical figure.

Danielle Wood with the MLK Council hopes the students will learn about Dr. King's message.

"Doctor King was a proponent of education. He was also an advocate for change, as well as equality. We want to make sure our students are aware of those concepts and can work together collaboratively," said Wood. "That is what it's all about. To work together, to be together and to learn to cultivate love and friendship and service."

The message and legacy of Dr. King, living on nearly 50 years after his death.
