Updated: April 17, 2007
The first ever Bella Vista town meeting was held Monday night. Items on the agenda included figuring out normal meeting procedures, the swearing in of aldermen and discussion concerning taking over operations of the police department, the fire department, the street department and waste management from the Property Owners` Association. New Mayor Jack Anderson says there`s a lot of work involved in taking Bella Vista from a village to a town, but says it`s a job he`s honored to be a part of. The meeting was broadcast live on Bella Vista channel 16. Only the second live broadcast for the station in history. Citizens were allowed to address the mayor and council members and most had bright outlooks for the Bella Vista.
