A Springdale man is in jail accused of assaulting two women before leading police on a short chase.

Edward Brown faces charges of assault, domestic battery, terroristic threatening and fleeing.

Springdale Police were called to Amhurst Loop Monday afternoon after a report that a man was there hitting a woman.

Brown was leaving the scene in a car when officers arrived and wouldn't pull over when they tried to stop him.

He drove onto the lawn of a home on Commons Avenue, sped around a police car and drove back to the scene on Amhurst. He then fled from the car on foot but police later found him hiding in a neighbor's closet.
The victim told police Brown choked and punched her and also assaulted her sister.

Brown is in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.
