Springdale Man Accused of Hitting Women, Fleeing From Police

A Springdale man is in jail accused of assaulting two women before leading police on a short chase.
Edward Brown faces charges of assault, domestic battery, terroristic threatening and fleeing.
Springdale Police were called to Amhurst Loop Monday afternoon after a report that a man was there hitting a woman.
Brown was leaving the scene in a car when officers arrived and wouldn't pull over when they tried to stop him.
He drove onto the lawn of a home on Commons Avenue, sped around a police car and drove back to the scene on Amhurst. He then fled from the car on foot but police later found him hiding in a neighbor's closet.
The victim told police Brown choked and punched her and also assaulted her sister.
Brown is in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.
