Oscars and Adele
Producers at the Academy Awards have announced that Adele will sing her version of the James Bond theme song to the newest film "Skyfall" during the February 24th ceremony. Adele is the frontrunner in the category for best original song.
Women in the Military
Senior defense officials say the defense secretary Panetta is removing the military's ban on women serving in combat, opening thousands of front line positions.The move, recommended by the joint chiefs of staff, overturns a 1994 rule banning women from being assigned to smaller ground combat units.
Te'o's Troubles
Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o has told Katie Couric that he briefly lied about his online girlfriend after discovering she didn't exist. Te'o said in an interview to air Thursday on Couric's TV show that he didn't lie about the hoax until December, believing Lennay Kekua had died of cancer. The Heisman trophy runner-up received a phone call in December from a woman saying she was Kekua, whom he believed had died in September.
Clinton and Benghazi
Secretary of state Hilary Clinton testified on capitol hill Wednesday regarding the September 11, 2012 attack on the diplomatic compound in Libya that killed four Americans. Republicans shared their views on how the incident was handled, accusing the administration and Secretary Clinton of failing to protect the embassy and to provide honest and accurate information following the attack.
