Friday's Edge List: Top 10 Funniest Current Comedians.

Number 10: Kristen Wiig
This old-fashioned screwball comedienne has broken down the barriers for funny women. Making her presence known on Saturday Night Live, Wiig is now one of the shows greatest impressionists. Wiig has left the cast of SNL but we expect she'll stay in the spotlight as a movie star.

Number 9: Bill Hader
Also a Saturday Night Live castmember, Bill Hader is a versatile comedian and a master of impressions. His over the top style captures audiences and leaves them doubled over with laughter. He is the face and voice behind many of SNL's weirdest and greatest characters in years.

Number 8: Lena Dunham
As the creator writer and actor in HBO's "Girls", Lena Dunham has cornered the market of young girl problems. She knows how to turn the most embarrassing parts of being young and adrift into hilarious situations. Dunham's show took home two golden globes this year.

Number 7: Chris Rock
Chris Rock is one of the few comedians to remain funny and relevant for nearly his entire career. These days,  he's the executive producer of several hit TV shows, he acts on Broadway, and is still a movie star.

Number 6: Amy Poehler
This SNL alum now has a hit show on NBC where she is the main character. As Leslie Knope, Poehler has brilliant timing and is a master of physical comedy. She didn't get near enough screen time as Tina Fey's co-host at this years Golden Globes.

Number 5: Trey Parker and Matt Stone
Fifteen years ago, South Park was not very well accepted. Today, it's one of the most popular TV shows of its time. Co-creators Parker and Stone have become a couple of the smartest writers out there. Now, they've made their Broadway debut with "The Book of Mormon" which has become the best reviewed musical in recent memory.

Number 4: John Stewart
Now entering his fifteenth year behind "The Daily Show" anchor desk, Stewart is a household name. In the early Bush years, he single handily obliterated the clich that liberals couldn't be funny, merging satire with serious political interviews. He's remained the most trusted name in political news for people who don't trust political news.

Number 3: Tina Fey
With a best-selling memoir, hit t-v show, and credits on nearly everything funny that comes out, Tina Fey is huge right now. The writer-producer-actor-author has become an icon and a trailblazer for versatile comedians, even tackling playing "Sarah Palin" during her years on Saturday Night Live.

Number 2: Steven Colbert
Well known for his political humor, Colbert is often overlooked but he's one of comedy's quickest wits and an old fashioned hilarious guy. Colbert sets himself apart as not just a sarcastic comedian when it comes to politics but he's an activist as well; testifying before congress and founding his own super PAC to expose wrong doings in the world of politics.

Number 1: Louis C.K.
Louis C.K. is the great american comedian, his jokes reflect his life as a devoted single father trying to make ends meat. His often politically incorrect skits are a hit with his audience.
