A Rogers man was arrested Tuesday, accused of sending explicit text messages to a teenage girl.
Police say 55-year old Jefferey Sanders exchanged sexually explicit text and picture messages with a 13-year-old girl from Fayetteville.
The teen had told Sanders she was 15 while Sanders was claiming to be a 16-year-old boy from Georgia.
Police found phone records showing multiple text and picture messages exchanged between Sanders and the victim.
Witnesses also identified Sanders in explicit pictures sent to the victim's phone.
During an interview with police, Sanders made statements admitting to sending sexually explicit material to the victim but claimed he thought she was 20 or 21 years old.
Sanders would later admit it was possible the victim had represented herself as a 15-year-old but he could not remember clearly.
During a second interview with police, the victim stated with certainty that she had presented herself as a 15-year-old in all of her communications with Sanders.
Sanders was booked into the Washington County Jail Tuesday on a charge of computer child porn.
He was released later on $5,000 bond.
