It was a big day for architecture students at the University of Arkansas as they celebrated the birthday of the school's late namesake, Fay Jones.

An architect and designer born on January 31, 1921, Jones was an apprentice of well-known architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

Jones died in Fayetteville in 2004, and the U of A dedicated the School of Architecture to him in 2009.

It is now known as the Fay Jones School of Architecture.
