Attorney Jack Paris to Represent Family While They Decide Where Collins Will Attend College

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - February 7, 2013 - Andrea McDonald, mother of highly sought-after college football recruit Alex Collins, has retained attorney Jack Paris of The Cochran Firm - South Florida to represent the family's interests while she contemplates on signing the NCAA's Letter of Intent that will decide where the South Plantation High School running back will play football.

McDonald was expected to sign the document with the Razorbacks during Wednesday's National Signing Day. However, the family of the five-star recruit said no decision has been made.

"Alex's family has been overwhelmed with media inquiries regarding their impending decision," said Paris. "They want to make a clean choice that is free of any outside influences. This is a very tough decision and they are weighing their options very carefully. The National Letter of Intent is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution. Prospects under the age of 21 must have a parent or legal guardian must sign it in order for it to be considered valid.

Collins, who was ranked 57th by ESPN, verbally committed to University of Arkansas during a televised interview. Collins had been a longtime commit to the University of Miami until he reopened his recruitment in November.
