When you hear the word "watchdogs," your first thought might not be a group of parents hoping to make a positive difference in the lives of their children in Northwest Arkansas. That's just what one group is doing in NWA and nationwide.

Watch D.O.G.S. is a group of dad's who take off a day of work and go into the classroom to spend time with their children.

Watch D.O.G.S., Dad's of great students. was featured this week on NBC's Today Show.  Executive director, Eric Snow says he's glad to show off the group's Arkansas roots.

"I'm very proud when I go out and speak around the country. I tell 'em right away that this is an Arkansas product so we're proud of that. We're also proud of is being able to share that with the country and realize that a school in Northwest Arkansas is very much like a school in Texas or Oregon or California or Nevada," said Snow.

More and more schools around the nation - 2700 to be exact - are finding fulfillment in having father's in the classroom.

"We found that many schools believe that having the watchdogs program in their schools is a great response," said Snow.
