Fort Smith Jr. High on Lockdown After Shooting Rumor

By: Lisa Mendenhall
Updated: February 14, 2013

A Fort Smith school was put on lockdown Thursday morning after rumors of a possible shooting.

According to police, word spread among students that there could soon be a shooting at Ramsey Junior High School.

Police say a parent tipped them off to the rumor, so they went to Ramsey and put the school on a temporary lockdown just in case.

Fort Smith PD tells us no students or faculty were ever in any danger.

Officers believe the Ramsey rumors may have sprouted out of another similar shooting rumor that began circulating at Northside High School last week.
