A Fort Smith teenager is behind bars facing a first-degree murder charge.

Police arrested Dustin Michael Trowbridge, 19, early Thursday morning.

According to investigators, the teen shot and killed his aunt around midnight, after an argument in her home.

They say he then stole a car and took off.

Officers managed to track him down a short while later.

Police say Trowbridge had been living on and off with his aunt, Rita Anderson, 25, and her family.

According to a police report, Anderson's boyfriend and her two young children were in the home at the time of the shooting.

Trowbridge is now in the Sebastian County Jail on no bond.
