AR Farm Bureau Donates $4K to Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House in Little Rock is getting a big boost thanks to the Arkansas Farm Bureau!

The state women's committee presented the house with a check for $4,000 in honor of Food Check-Out Week.

The money will help the staff buy easy-to-prepare meals and non-perishable food items for residents at the Ronald McDonald House, which is a "home-away-from-home" for families of children receiving treatment at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

"We are grateful for our relationship with Arkansas Farm Bureau and its generous contribution," said Susan Miller, chair of the Ronald McDonald House board of directors, in a press release.  "We look forward to our reunion with the committee during Food Check-Out Week each year. Many of our residents return late after spending the day at the hospital with their child and it's comforting to know our pantry will be stocked with food they can enjoy."

Food Check-Out Week runs February 17 to 23 and draws attention to the fact that U.S. consumers enjoy the world's safest and most nutritious food supply.

According to a press release, Farm Bureau women's committees across the Natural State will observe Food Check-Out Week in their communities by making food and cash donations to local food banks and women's shelters, setting up displays and having conversations with shoppers at supermarkets.
