State Of The City In Rogers Looks Good

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
Shortly before the State of the Union address, the mayor of Rogers gave the "State of the City" address at the Rogers City Hall. Mayor Steve Womack addressed the city council and members of the media for about thirty minutes Tuesday night, laying out the year ahead and reporting on the year passed. The major issue discussed was the economic vitality of the city. Womack said 2006 was, "perhaps the best year ever." An ever-explanding tax base brought Rogers huge tax collections in 2006, the Promenade supplying much of that. Over one million dollars in collections are expected from the month of December for the new shopping complex.
