Scammers are calling parents and telling them the high schools counseling office gave them a list of students to call. They are asking for credit card numbers to pay for ACT and SAT prep materials.
Fayetteville High School says about a dozen parents say they received these calls.
The high school is issuing a warning message to all the parents through an automated voice mail.
The school says to their knowledge no one has given their credit card information out.
Fayetteville High School says they dont know where the students names were found because they dont give that information out, its a federal offense.
Police suspect the scammers are from out of town.
