Benton County Authorities Investigate Suspected Arson Cases

By: KNWA News
Updated: February 25, 2013
Benton County Authorities have launched investigations into three separate fires all believed to be arson.

On Sunday, February 17, Deputies and fire crews were called to a home on Gary Fletcher Road for a report of a fire that was determined to be suspicious.
Benton County Detective Mike Lira interviewed a potential suspect in that case but an arrest has not yet been made. The investigation is on-going but they do expect criminal charges to be filed eventually.
Back in late January, deputies say one or more people gained entry and set fire to a home Wilkerson Road. The interior of the home sustained severe fire and smoke damage.
Just a few days later in the early morning hours of February 5, that same home was set on fire resulting in even more damage.
Deputies believe they have a person of interest in this case as well. The investigation is on-going.
