The Greenland School District received a bit of a surprise on Thursday of last week. A fifth grade girl exited the a school bathroom and told teachers there was something written on the wall that they needed to see. The words, "School Shooting! 1-30-07" were scribbled on the wall of the restroom and school officials wasted no time in taking action. 1-30-07 refers to Tuesday January, 30th and on that day students and teachers will be greeted by extra security as they enter any of the schools located on Greenland`s campus. Metal detectors, searches and a school lock-down are planned to keep Greenland students safe on Tuesday. The superintendent of the school system says he doubts there`s much of a threat, but he`ll do all he can to keep any violence from happening. Also, he says, if the writer of the threat is identified.....they will be dealt with to the letter of the law.
