Alltel expanding service further into Louisiana

The Little Rock-based company said it has begun offering Axcess Broadband service throughout the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas - including the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain.
Axcess Broadband provides customers with unlimited wireless access to the Internet at speeds comparable to wired broadband connections such as cable modem or DSL.
Within Louisiana, the service is now available in Slidell, Mandeville and Covington, as well as in Timberlane, Metairie and Kenner. The continuous service extends north of Baton Rouge to Port Allen, Scotlandville, Baker and Zachary.
The new launch into southern Louisiana follows the introduction late last year of Axcess Broadband into Monroe and Shreveport.
