Woman Sentenced for Trying to Steal Morgan Nicks Identity

Tonya Smith, 24, pleaded guilty Thursday afternoon to felony computer fraud in exchange for a sentence of six years probation and a $2,500 fine.

Police officers say Smith was attempting to order a copy of Morgan Nick's birth certificate from the Arkansas Department of Health. She was arrested by special agents for computer fraud after w week of interviews.
Morgan's mother Colleen Nick went to the hearing in Pulaski County and says that she just wanted Smith to know that this is not a victimless crime, 'knowing that she could have really hurt the investigation if she had gotten Morgan's identity, it could have been a really bad thing,' says Nick.
