A proposed Hispanic male dormitory in Springdale is facing heavy opposition from residents and city officials. The dorm would be located at 4080 North Thompson Street and would house about 32 men. The problem? Neighbors and city officials say the project would cause more problems than it would solve. The idea of the dorm came after developer Steve Pohlsander picked up a Hispanic friend from a home in Springdale where he was living with too many others. Pohlsander says this dormitory is the perfect plan to help those in the Hispanic community get on their feet when first trying to find work after moving to the area.
