breaking news
The intersection of Willow and Rock Street in Fayetteville has residents around the corner a little concerned for the safety of both drivers and pedestrians. The problem, according to folks KNWA spoke with, is that the intersection is a two way stop and not a four way stop, but drivers tend to think that it is a four way stop. Meaning drivers who have to stop do so thinking everybody has to stop, resulting in a number of fender benders. A preschool located just a few hundred yards away puts young children forced to walk through the intersection at risk as well, and teachers there jumped at the chance to say so. They say drivers without a stop sign often speed through the intersection and worry that one day it might cause a tragic accident involving a small child. Residents hope the city can do something about the intersection before anything like that ever happens.
