Family To Sue For Daughters Hit And Run Death

Fayetteville attorney Paul Smith filed the lawsuit yesturday on behalf of Betrial Betwell and Melvin Sormile... parents of 4-year-old Debby Sormile, who was killed after being struck by a car on February 18th. The defendent and an illegal immigrant, Aron Almeida, was arrested February 23rd and is currently being held on 100,000 dollars bond. Claims in the suit are negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The suit seeks compensatory damages for survival claims and for wrongful death and punitive damages. Almeida faces charges in Washington County for fleeing the scene of a personal injury accident.
