breaking news
On Easter weekend a bought of freezing temperatures took a heavy toll on grape growers and wineries around the country. The Post Familie Winery in Altus suffered a loss of about two hundred acres worth of grape crop and now they say they`ll have very little wine selling to do next year. Since the family makes their wine from grapes harvested the previous year, they won`t see much of a fallout until 2008. That doesn`t help grape farmers however, because they depend on each year`s crop for that particular year and wineries have the option to buy wine making grapes from areas of the country unaffected by last weekend`s cold weather. Now farmers and wine producers all over hope to receive some kind of federal aid to help cope with their losses.
