Arkansas native and golfing legend John Daly is getting the brush off from CBS Sports. The network recently refused to air a commercial for Maxfli golf balls that features Daly in a bar. In the spot Daly drinks what appears to be beer, though the Maxfli company says it's actually ginger ale, while singing a country song. CBS Sports says the commercial is inappropriate because, "any implication that participants are drinking in excess or performing an activity that requires a level of alertness while drinking does not meet network standards." The manager of John Daly's Discount Golf in Springdale says she watched the commercial and found nothing more than a fun loving ad featuring Daly doing the things he loves to do.....playing golf, drinking beer and singing country music.
