The newly incorporated town of Bella Vista will not have to pay election costs for 2006.
That decision came Friday from the Benton County Attorney. Mayor Frank Anderson presented an argument, saying since Bella Vista was not a town at the time of the election, he didnt think the community should pay the fees, which totalled more than $22,000. Bella Vista became a town six days after the election.
