Arkansas head football coach Houston Nutt is scheduled to meet with one of the men who requested his phone records. Nutt and his attorney, Byron Freeland, will meet with Thomas McAfee and his lawyer, Nate Coulter, this afternoon in Little Rock. Coming up tonight at 5, 6, and 10 on KNWA, Matt Turner will have live reports on the meeting. Earlier this year, McAfee requested Nutt's cell phone records through the Freedom Of Information Act. McAfee was alarmed at what he found in the phone bills and voiced his concern in a letter to the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees. Just days after McAfee mailed it, he received a letter from Nutt's attorney that threatened legal action and accused McAfee of making false accusations.
The 28-year-old from Searcy discovered that Nutt had spoken to Teresa Prewett numerous times on the day she sent an inappropriate email to former Arkansas quarterback Mitch Mustain. Prewett is a family friend of Houston Nutt and a longtime booster for the program, but Nutt denied having any knowledge of the email.
McAfee also found that Nutt had been contacting local television news anchor Donna Bragg almost everyday. The records show that Nutt and Bragg text messaged each other over one-thousand times during a two-month period. Nutt addressed their relationship in an open letter to razorback fans, saying he and Bragg are just friends.
