Keeping Dollars in Legal Hands?

A proposed resolution that aims to keep Benton County taxpayer dollars from illegal immigrants was tabled Tuesday in Benton County.
If adopted, any vendor doing business with Benton County would have to sign an affidavit, declaring all of their employees as legal residents.
Some say businesses using illegal workers are able to keep prices down, because they dont have to provide health benefits and often times dont pay their workers.
Benton County has nearly 8,000 vendors. City officials do not think they will need to hire a new employee to deal with the paperwork involved with filed affidavits, if the proposal passes.
