Houston Nutt has had a lot of off-the-field distractions this year, with one of them involving a man who obtained Nutts cell phone records through the Freedom Of Information Act. Houston Nutt and Thomas McAfee sat down in Little Rock, with their lawyers present, to talk about Nutts cell phone records being publicized, and the scrutiny thats followed. This meeting was very private, until now. McAfee actually broke his silence and spoke candidly to the Democrat Gazette about their meeting. Its been two weeks since Coach Houston Nutt and his wife Diana sat down face to face with Thomas McAfee, the fan who FOId Nutts cell phone records. Now McAfee is speaking to the Democrat Gazette. McAfee questioned Nutts contact with both a local newsanchor and Teresa Prewitt. Prewitt wrote a critical email to Mitch Mustain, calling him the interception king. McAfee told the Democrat Gazette, Diana Nutt did half of the talking and scolded him for asking questions about Nutts cell phone records. They also wanted a public apology, but McAfee maintained he has nothing to apologize for. Nutt and his wife also adressed the relationship between he and a local newsanchor saying nothing inappropriate was going on. Diana told McAfee he tried to humiliate her family, but it didnt work. The Democrat Gazette talked to McAfees attorney, Nate Coulter, who said they tried unsuccessfully to get Nutts SIM card from his cell phone, so they could actually read the text messages. Coulter said the Board of Trustees or a leader from the University should give some response to this much publicized issue.
