You may have seen an e-mail or classified ad lately offering pedigreed puppies for rock-bottom prices, but beware: its a scam.
The Better Business Bureau says the scammers claim to be missionaries in Africa, and need to sell their pure-bred puppies as soon as possible. They then ask for the money to be wired to Africa, and the puppy never arrives.
The bureau says you can avoid being scammed by doing background checks on breeders, and beware of breeders who are more interested in the money, not the puppy going to a good home.
