When you read in the newspaper, "Three-ton air conditioner stolen," you think, how did they lift it. We found out, its actually not that difficult. Tuesday night police received a call saying someone stole a three-ton air conditioner, but who could walk off with something that heavy? The Incredible Hulk, or Superman perhaps! Jeff Handley, of Handley Heat and Air, showed us a comparable air conditioner, but it didnt look like it weighed three tons. Handley says, "It probably weighs about 250 pounds...something like that." The size doesnt matter to Handley. He just wants outsiders to leave his stuff alone. He explains, "Oh yeah, it makes me mad, I mean its causing me extra work because I have to haul stuff over to the house. I dont want the stuff at my house, thats not where my business is and their costing me extra money cause my scrap guy isnt gonna come get the stuff anymore. So yeah, it makes me mad. Oh yeah, I hate a thief." Who committed the crime remains a mystery. Why its called a three-ton air conditioner...thats easy! Handley explains, "When you say a three-ton air conditioner, thats rated in BTUs. Theres 12,000 BTUs per ton and a three-ton has a 36,000 BTU capacity for cooling. It doesnt actually weigh three tons. Its just, thats the way that they rate em." Handley says the robber also broke open his soda machine. Whoever it was, stole the change, some important parts, and his sodas.
