cuffs2007-06-29-1183155975.jpgInvestigators with the Benton Police Department say Christian Helsham burned and buried the remains of his stillborn baby in Gentry. Investigators say Helsham told them his girlfriend, 20-year-old Jill Jones, called him last summer and said their child was stillborn and she didn't know what to do with the body. At the time Helsham was living in Gentry and Jones was living in Benton. Helsham told police he met Jones in Haskell-- where she gave him a plastic bag with the baby girl's body inside. According to investigators, he then drove back to Gentry where he burned and buried the body. But investigators have not found the remains...They say Helsham will not tell them where he buried the baby. Jones told detectives Helsham agreed to take care of the baby's body but says she doesn't know what he did with the remains after she gave them to him. The couple faces a charge of concealing a birth -- a class D felony. Both have bonded out of jail. Investigators say they're continuing to follow leads and search for the baby's remains.
