Cell phones towers have to be pretty tall and because of that many residents feel theyre an eye sore. So the Verizon company, whos behind the new cell tower plan, hopes they can convince those residents to agree on whats called a stealth tower. Basically its a cell tower disguised as something else. Some are painted to look like trees, others like light posts or gigantic flag poles. Residents seem to be more willing to allow a stealth tower, but some dont even see the need for a tower at all because, they say, Verizon service is adequate in Rogers.
Verizon wireless wants the tower in order to make coverage even better, but some residents who claim their minds are open to the idea say they still cant get sufficient answers to their questions about the project...and wont give in until they get those answers.
Tuesday the Rogers Library Board of Trustees voted to continue negotiations with Verizon, but will address all resident concerns before a final decision is made.
