AR Highway Department Prepares for Freezing Temperatures

By: Marissa Stevens
Updated: December 7, 2012

As temperatures flirt with the freezing mark, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department is gearing up.

According to the department, they have prepared several vehicles to respond as the temperatures dip with a chance of precipitation.

But it seems the saving grace might be the unseasonably warm weather as of recent. As a result, the roads will most likely retain the heat from those high temps so the likelihood of snow sticking or ice forming is much less.
