A new study says breast cancer patients who are obese before diagnosis are less likely to beat the disease.

Researchers found the link for women whose cancer was fueled by estrogen.  This is most likely because obese women tend to already have higher levels of estrogen which may explain the increased risk for death.

Obese women were 69% more likely to die from breast cancer than women at a healthy weight.

The risks were the same for women who were obese when they were 18 years old even if they had shed weight since then.
