One man is dead, one is injured and another is in police custody after a shooting in Fort Smith.

Thursday night around 10:30, police went to Summit Terrace Apartments after a reported shooting. They said they found 27-year-old Cecil Dotson III lying in the door way of the apartment, with two apparent gunshots wounds.  His sister, Jermashia Dotson, was inside the apartment with him. Dotson was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Early Friday morning, Fredrick Mensah Newton, who witnesses said is Latoshia's boyfriend, turned himself in to police. During an interview with police, Newton admitted to being at the apartment and there had been a fight between him, Cecil Dotson and a third man, Rafael Dotson.

Newton was charged with Murder 1st Degree and Felon in Possession of a Firearm and is being held at Sebastian County jail without bond.

According to witnesses, they believe Rafael Dotson was also shot during the incident, possibly in the arm.  On Friday afternoon, Rafael Dotson went to the police department to be interviewed by investigators.  Police say he had what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his arm.

Officers have also questioned Latoshia about the shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
