5-star running back Alex Collins was supposed to sign his letter of intent to play for Arkansas on Wednesday, National Signing Day. That did not happen. He still plans to become a Razorback though.
Collins tells the NBC affiliate in Miami he's still committed to the Hogs and will sign his letter of intent at noon eastern (11am central) on Thursday.
Monday night, the hotly recruited player from South Plantation High School in south Florida announced his intentions to play for Arkansas on regional television. His signing ceremony got cancelled Wednesday because his mother stole his paperwork and took off. Reportedly, she was upset Collins chose the Hogs rather than stay close to home in Florida.
Because Collins is not 21, he needs a parent or legal guardian's signature on his letter of intent.
