A group of Razorback fans might miss church during baseball season, but they're still giving thanks before Sunday ballgames.

"I used to think that baseball was the best way to get a nap on a Sunday afternoon," says Bobby Smittle. "That was before I started coming to Razorback baseball games."

Smittle says a Razorback baseball game is the perfect way to spend a Sunday, but if you want to tailgate, you're probably going to miss Sunday service, so his crew created one of their own."

Don't expect a traditional sermon at the Hogbus Devotional.

Bobby Smittle's message on the first Sunday game of the season mixed biblical verse with stories of Babe Ruth.

"I really try to give them something that relates to something they care about," he says.

And although Sunday's game didn't go the way Smittle hoped, he says Hog fans have plenty to be thankful for.

"We have a facility here that is without compare in the rest of the country," he says. "Nobody has crowds llike this... "I really hope people realize that there is a creator who brought all this to us. Every day is a blessing and we should thank him for having those blessings."

The service starts two hours before the first pitch, and Smittle says anyone can join in.

"Everyone's welcome to come but know that as soon as we're done, we're gonna have a blessing on the food and we're gonna eat just like a tailgate at any other game, biscuits and gravy and all the fixins," he says.
