Northwest Arkansas Community College may be expanding to Washington County.

The school's Board of Directors will vote Monday night on a recommendation to begin preliminary discussions for the purchase of some property in Springdale. The school's Land Use Committee made the recommendation Thursday.

The land would be used to establish a Washington County Instructional Center.

The new campus would sit on 39 acres of currently undeveloped property located just west of Arvest Ballpark, and the school estimates a need for 120,000 square foot facility that could be built in one to three phases

The board meets at 4:30 Monday night.
