A man is arrested by Fayetteville police and accused of trying to run over officers with his truck.

It happened Sunday morning around 1:00 a.m. near Dickson Street.

Investigators say David Wever, 23, put his truck in reverse and backed up quickly, almost hitting one of the officers.

According to police, Wever then drove toward the other officer, forcing him to jump out of the way to avoid being run over.

As he tried to escape, investigators say Wever jumped the curb and drove down the sidewalk almost hitting several pedestrians.

Police also say they found weapons inside his truck.

He faces multiple aggravated assault charges.
