Selling books for animals, the annual Charlie Brown Booksale raised more than 4 thousand dollars for a local charity.

Every year, Vandergriff Elementary in Fayetteville hosts a special sale to benefit the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.  Books are donated each year and none of the literary works sell for more than 1 dollar.

Thursday at Vandergriff, the school presented a check to the Animal Shelter.  The 2012 total for the Charlie Brown Booksale was $4,730.

The Fayetteville Animal Shelter says this event is the single largest fundraiser of the year for the shelter.
