One committee is up in arms, opposed to a proposed constitutional amendment to legalize casinos in Arkansas.

According to Stop Casinos Now!, they filed a challenge against Nancy Todd, of Nancy Todd's Poker Palace, and her proposed constitutional amendment to bring four casinos to Arkansas. The committee believes the proposal is illegal and misleading.

They believe Todd's attempt would create an unregulated monopoly in the state which is against federal law. The secretary of state's office is currently checking around 80,000 signatures to see if Todd's team gathered enough signatures to get their casino efforts on the November ballot.

Nancy Todd responded and said she fully expected this challenge and released the following statements.

"This group brings special interest to a whole new level. Their only goal seems to be to make sure the people of Arkansas do not have a right to vote on this important issue... If there were such big issues with our amendment one would think they would have been brought out when we first filed."
