Chorus line composer Marvin Hamlisch died Tuesday at the age of 68. The Oscar, Grammy, Emmy, Tony and Golden Globe winner's songs appeared in a long list of Hollywood hits including "The Way We Were" and "The Sting."
Reebok
Customers who bought the Reebok shoes designed to tone the legs and buttocks may be getting a refund check. The government reached a settlement with Reebok after alleging that the shoe company falsely advertised the product. Reebok has already handed over $25 million to settle with the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC will be reimbursing over 300,000 consumers.
Reid vs. Romney
Recent comments by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid regarding Mitt Romney's taxes causing a stir in political circles. Reid made the accusation that Romney hasn't paid taxes in ten years and says the info is based on a "credible source" from inside Romney's old investment firm, Bain Capital. Romney says all of the accusations are untrue and that he paid his taxes.
James Holmes.
According to a Denver station, Colorado massacre accused shooter James Holmes' school psychiatrist raised red flags about him six weeks before the shooting. The doctor was so concerned that the 24 year old might be a threat to others, she called the university's threat assessment team and campus police. The psychiatrist never filled out any paperwork that would cause police to detain Holmes. The suspect dropped out of school June 10th, before the school's threat assessment team could meet to discuss taking action.
Jared Lee Loughner
A judge has found Jared Lee Loughner competent to stand trial, allowing him to enter a guilty plea at a hearing Tuesday. The Arizona man accused of killing six people and wounding 13 others, including former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords last year, pleaded guilty to 19 charges as part of a plea deal to avoid the death penalty.
