One Person Dead After Bentonville Car Accident

According to a State Police report, 19-year-old Emanuel Perez-Serrano was riding in a car driven by 18-year-old Berniece Martinez on the 900 block of North Main Street just before 2:30 Wednesday morning.
The accident report says Martinez lost control of the 1998 Mercury, left the road and became airborne before striking another vehicle parked on the road and finally hitting a second vehicle parked in a driveway.
Both occupants were thrown from the car.
According to the accident report, neither wore their seat belts.
Both were taken to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, but Perrez-Serrano died from his injuries.
Berniece Martinez was arrested just hours after the accident.
She faces charges of third degree Battery and disorderly conduct.
She is in Benton County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
