Harry Vandergriff Dies at age 93

The Fayetteville Public School District lost a friend on Wednesday.

Former District Superintendent Harry Vandergriff passed away Wednesday at the age of 93.  Vandergriff lead the district from 1969 to 1982.

A local elementary with his namesake sits on East Township Street in Fayetteville as a reminder of a man who dedicated his life to public education. Even in retirement, he worked at the school as a volunteer tutor working to improve the lives of others.
