Patricia Dotson was arrested Saturday evening for Terroristic Threatening, Criminal Mischief, Reckless Driving and Fleeing by Means of Vehicle.

Fort Smith Police say they arrived at a residence in the 1900 block of Wirsing Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Billy Dotson told police that he is currently seeking a divorce from his wife, Patricia Dotson, and that she was sitting in his driveway waiting for him to come outside to talk to her and that Patricia would not leave.

Reports say that Patricia Dotson became upset when asked to leave and shouted obscenities. She got back in her vehicle and when she started the car to drive off, an Officer told her that he would move his vehicle so that it would be easier for her leave.

Patricia shouted more obscenities and revved her engine up as she was backing out of the driveway. With the engine still revved up, she placed it into drive, accelerating into the yard and almost hit the police officer. Patricia Dotson ran over the mailbox, almost hitting a tree and then drove recklessly across two yards before entering the street, says police.

Police say they followed her about a mile down the road and when she stopped at a red light one of the officers jumped out of their car and place Patricia's vehicle into park, remove her from the vehicle, and arrested her.

Billy Dotson told police that he was afraid of his wife and believed that she was capable of hurting him when she gets upset. Billy Dotson said that his wife has had mental issues most of her life and that she can become violent. He also said that he has tried to get a protection order against Patricia Dotson but the process has been slow, says police reports.

Police reports state that while Patricia was being booked into Sebastian County Detention Center she told a Deputy that if she had a gun, she would have shot and killed her husband tonight.
